Bolt Sense — Privacy Policy
Last updated: 14 September 2026
Bolt Sense is a puzzle game for iPhone, made by an independent solo developer. This policy explains what the app does with your information. The short version is that it asks for nothing about you personally, and the only thing it sends anywhere is technical diagnostics — crashes, errors and performance — used to find bugs and keep the game running well.
Diagnostics
Bolt Sense uses Unity Diagnostics, a diagnostics service built into the Unity game engine and provided by Unity Technologies. While the app is running, and whenever it crashes or hits an error, it sends reports so that problems can be found and fixed. Those reports contain:
- crash reports and error logs from the app;
- performance information, such as how the app was running when a problem happened;
- basic technical information about the device and the app, such as the model, operating system version and app version;
- basic information about how the app is used, such as when a play session starts and how long it lasts, which shows whether a problem is rare or widespread;
- a random installation identifier, so that reports coming from the same installation can be grouped together.
Because every report carries that installation identifier, Apple's App Store privacy label lists this information as linked to the app installation. The identifier is created for the installation. It is not your name, your email address, your phone number or your Apple ID, it does not by itself tell the developer who you are, and it is not used to track you across other apps or websites. These reports are used for one purpose — finding and fixing faults and keeping the game running well. They are not sold, and they are not shared for advertising. Unity keeps this information for up to 90 days by default, and its handling of it is governed by Unity's Game Player and App User Privacy Policy. If you would rather no diagnostics were sent, deleting the app stops them.
What the app does not do
- It does not ask for your name, email address, phone number, or any other personal detail.
- It does not create an account or require you to sign in.
- It does not use advertising, advertising identifiers, or cross-app tracking.
- It does not access your contacts, photos, camera, microphone, location, or health data.
- It contains no third-party advertising software. Apart from the Unity diagnostics described above, it contains no third-party data-collection software.
- It does not sell your information, and it does not share it for advertising or marketing.
Information stored on your device
The app saves a small amount of information locally on your iPhone so that it works the way you would expect between sessions — for example your sound and haptics settings, and your progress through a puzzle. This information stays on your device. It is not transmitted anywhere, the developer cannot see it, and deleting the app removes it.
Information Apple may handle
Bolt Sense is distributed through Apple. If you install it through the App Store or through TestFlight, Apple may collect information about that installation under Apple's own policies — for example, aggregated download or crash statistics, or, in the case of TestFlight, the email address you used to join the beta. That relationship is between you and Apple. Any such information is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy, not by this one, and the developer does not receive personal information about you from it.
Children
Bolt Sense does not ask any user for personal information, and it does not ask for an age. No profile of any user is created, and the diagnostics described above are technical information about the app, the device and play sessions, tied to a random installation identifier rather than to a named person.
Changes to this policy
If a future version of Bolt Sense ever adds a feature that involves your information, this policy will be updated before that version is released, and the date at the top of this page will change. Material changes will be described here rather than made quietly.
